Praise

to God,
who has blessed me so graciously
with good recovery,
and wonderful friends. 2 Corinthians 9:7
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give,
not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Surprise!!

I hobbled my way to the computer and sat down to read my top 5 blogs....
and what a wonderful surprise awaited me here!
Molly is having a baby tommorrow!!!

By His Good Grace

When the morning falls on the farthest hill

I will sing His Name,

I will praise Him still

When dark trials come

and my heart is filled

with the weight of doubt

I will praise Him still

For the Lord our God

He is strong to save

From the arms of death ,

from the deepest grave

And He gave us life in His perfect will

and by His good grace I will praise Him still.

Home

Thank you for your prayers! I am home, and your prayers were answered. I will be slowly recovering the next 6 weeks. I'll check back in soon.

Please Pray...

  • Safety, happiness and obedience for the boys, at Grandma and Grandpa's.
  • Comfort and peace, trusting my Jesus, as I go into surgery.
  • Mr. Wonderful, as he will be waiting.
  • the 2 surgeons, clarity of minds and steadiness of hands.
  • Recovery.....
  • Getting the bills paid....

2 Samuel 7:18

David's Prayer

Then King David went in and sat before the LORD,

and he said:

"Who am I, O Sovereign LORD,

and what is my family,

that you have brought me this far?"

Hide me

Amidst the sorrows of the way
Lord Jesus, teach my soul to pray
Let me taste Thy special grace
And run to Christ, my hiding place

You know the vileness of my heart
So prone to act the rebel's part
And when You veil Your lovely face
How can I find a hiding place

Hiding place, hiding place,Lord,
guide my wandering feet
Draw me to Thy mercy seat
I've nought to trust but sovereign grace
Thou only art my hiding place

How unstable is my heart
Sometimes I take the tempter's part
And slight the tokens of Thy grace
And seem to want no hiding place

But when Thy spirit shines within
Makes me feel the plague of sin
And how I long to see Thy face
'Tis then I want a hiding place

Lord Jesus, shine and then I can
Feel sweetness in salvation's plan
And as a sinner plead for grace
Christ, the sinner's hiding place
And as a sinner plead for grace
Christ, the sinner's hiding place!

Ugly Words

These are words that I don't like.
I don't like how they are spelled,
how they sound,
and what they mean {to me}

Procrastination: if I act like the 18th {surgery} isn't coming, then it won't.
Grasp: holding onto what cannot be stopped: time.
Insinuate: that I really haven't dealt with this properly,
or have not thought out the possibilities.

Control-Freak: aren't we all deluded into thinking we have some sort of control?

Red Number Day

Braden came to me this morning with this equation
that he had written himself.
9-9-18
I showed him how to write the correct symbols,
and he quickly filled a page with the "math that he knows"!

Learning and discovery are contagious,

and once again, Nathan is right there,

doing the same work, understanding the same concepts.

And Ian continues his fasination with electronics,

his vocabulary increasing everyday.

Quick Escape

On Saturday morning, we loaded up
and set out for our favorite camping destination.
Armed with raisen bran muffins and chocolate cake,
knitting in my lap and more in the bag.
But, in the frenzy to leave, I left my camera.....
so this photo is from the same place, last year!

We hiked, letting the boys lead.
We picked huckleberries, letting the boys eat.
We waded and splashed, letting the boys be boys.

Looking up.....

What power can steady that fluttering, wayward, agitated thing:
a human heart?
The way to keep light articles fixed on deck amidst rolling seas
and howling winds is to lash them to something fixed.
And the way to steady the heart is to bind it to God.

Everywhere

Today I'm planting iris from a neighbor....
choosing the perfect color
with the perfect name
for my memory garden....
saying "good-bye, girl"
all the time,
everywhere.

Bountiful Blessing

This morning, we trooped off to pick strawberries.
2 hours and 56.4 pounds later,
we dragged our aching backs and knees home,
weary but so blessed by this harvest.
Lunch was belgian waffles,
topped with strawberries and homemade ice cream.

Mountains

of lumber....
over 400 freshly stained 6' cedar boards,
ready to be a privacy fence.
This was my part of the job....
I am so proud of myself for getting it done
(eventually!)
...may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalms 19:4
