Home

Between the tucking into bed and the starting of laundry,

between Mr. Wonderful up on the roof in the wind to repair before the rain comes,

and between loads in from the car, I check my favorite feeds.

And here it is, the post that makes me ask:

"Why haven't I told them about her?

She makes me cry *in such a good way*

every time.

Our Anniversary

Today we are leaving for a belated anniversary trip---just me and Mr. Wonderful and Ian. The big boys will be staying with grandma's and grandpa's and having a blast, I'm sure. So I thought I would put up pictures of what we did on our anniversary.

Braden and I had stayed home from church with a cold, so Nathan and Daddy went shopping. Here's what they came home with: Legos!

Pearls!!!!

And here's our wedding feast!
China, candlelight, Italian food,
and then we watched our wedding video.
It was a wonderful day!

Quilts

Inspiration comes by way of a mass retailer:

Garnet Hill What a great way to use up scraps---

pinwheels of all colors,

then unifying them with a simple sashing.

I really like the simple rectangles instead of basic squares!

And the happy colors and complicated design!

Quilt goodness!

Life of Boys

Bikes, Parks and time with Daddy---

what more could we want?

Oh, yeah, a ice cream cone!

Nathan is.....

almost 4!

Rainy Sunday

Today was another wonderful
*touch of chill* day,
full of the seasons welcome pleasures.
After church, we munched down our sandwiches
so we could hit the muddy puddles before the sun appeared.
It was Ian's first ride.
My four.

He didn't make it half a block before being lulled to sleep by
the whooping and hollering and splishing and splashing!

We made a bee-line for the best puddle in town.
It's always there after a storm, thanks to poor drainage on the corner.

Nathan just "graduated" to Braden's old bike!

Hooray for stocking cap weather!!

God's visible testament to His faithfulness!

Walk

This is my favorite time of year---the chilly mornings, the delicious sun in the afternoon, and being given the time for a brisk walk to the park with the boys, knitting in tow, and seeing beauty like this.

Did I mention knitting? My sewing machine is broken---so what's a girl to do? Learn something new!!

This is a super easy seamless pattern, knitting top down. It will have long sleeves---they're just waiting while I finish up the body portion.

Ian is the happiest little guy around---and look at those chompers!

On the Needles

Knitting, I must confess,

is my latest textile passion.

A little sweater for Ian

or *whomever it fits*

of this delightful baby alpaca.

It just feels so good

in my hands.

~~ Gift ~~

She spent her early morning *can't sleep* hours on this for me and my Ian,
working to finish cosy kittens before surgery.
Surgery.
Cancer.

Lord, I lift up our dear neighbors, Henry and Diane.
Diane, for peace and your presence~~
Henry, for salvation of his dear kind soul.

Mothering Boys

I don't pretend to even begin to understand
how to raise fearless, courageous men.
But here's a start. They showed no fear of heights---
Practicing going down and up again----

Black stains from the old tar paper---

Did I mention that they weren't afraid at ALL?

Ok, that's about all my poor heart can take---
please come down now??!!!

Getting closer!

No problems, MOM!!

Now I can breathe again!

Excitement at our House!

7 am---Sunrise work to be done---trusses going up on the addition.
Munching muffins while they decide to be "crane guys" when they grow up!

Couldn't resist these photos of Mr. Wonderful with my dad.
The two most wonderfullest men on earth!!

Ok, back to work.

Oh, wait, here's my happy toothy boy
(working on tooth #2)
with a tiny red nose!
The last big one goes up into place!

My Mr. Wonderful later in the day, bracing it all together!

Happy. (Mommy works. )

Not happy! (Mommy doesn't work!!)
