Underneath...

.....is my rock....my Jesus...those everlasting arms.

Piled on top, layer after layer, are emotions.
the emotions I'm feeling trapped in,
pushing aside to wade through
cobwebs of fear,
heavy sorrow,
and {seemingly} endless pain.

Because He's here with me,
I'm calm at the Center,
grounded in the Truth,
yet still sobbing on the surface.

.
2 Corinthians 6:9-10
...dying, and yet we live on;
beaten, and yet not killed;
sorrowful, yet always rejoicing;
poor, yet making many rich;
having nothing, and yet
possessing everything.

This reminded me of a few quotes from a book recently given to me...

"At the heart of a cyclone tearing the sky
And flinging the clouds and the towers by,
Is a place of central calm;
So here in the roar of mortal things,
I have a place where my spirit sings,
In the hollow of God's palm."

Edwin Markham

My depths are held by peace. The surface may be disturbed; it's the depths that count."
